The Mechanical Soul EP encompasses BUG’s uniquely soulful, head-nodding hip-hop sound, with a step towards the resurgence of that 80s nu-funk vibe. After the fantastic response to last year’s Cosmic Lab/20 Winks release, it was about time for some fresh material from London-based producer and keyboard player BUG. Beyond providing some stellar remixes, for the likes of kidkanevil, Quadron, East Park Reggae Collective and Paper Tiger/Dudley Perkins (Declaime), he’s been keeping busy with music and the weekly Jus Like Music radio show on NTS. But, now he’s back and has come more than correct with an EP already lauded by the likes of Om Unit, Quest, Ahu, kidkanevil, Danny Drive Thru, Natural Self and Blue Daisy!
